Amazing student work!

By Kate Borthwick |

The latest news: We have had our week 7 presentations from students and I was mightily impressed!

Students of accelerated Spanish were given the task to give an oral presentation and to include an element of interactivity, preferably using Xerte to highlight grammar and language knowledge. The presentations were of a very high standard and I was impressed by the way that everyone incorporated interactivity whether using Xerte or not. It was very interesting to see how creatively students made use of powerpoint and of Prezi to teach and interact with the class and demonstrate their learning: they used functionality and creative approaches which were innovative and interesting – and which made practical use of their language skills and in many cases extended them beyond the task requirements.

Our next steps are to find out more about students’ perceptions of the task and of using Xerte. This week, I’ve put out a survey to gather information and next week, we’ll hold a focus group to find out more detailed information. Xerte outputs and ppt files etc also need to be checked and edited before publishing online.
