Thanks to the Association of Caribbean Historians for an excellent annual conference in Martinique! It was good also to get to see the awesome Mont Pelée. Click here for more on its devastating eruption in 1902.

The 46th annual conference of the Association of Caribbean Historians will take place between 11 and 17 May at the Universite des Antilles et de la Guyane in Martinique. Christer Petley (editor of S&R) will present a paper about the material culture of Jamaican slaveholders.
