When should I complete the courses?

Each course will run at specific dates: you can see when a course next runs in the course description on the home page.
The ā€˜Got Skillsā€™ course should be completed in the first semester of your first year.
The ā€˜Get application readyā€™ course should be completed in the second semester of your second year.
The ā€˜Path to successā€™ course should be completed in the first semesterĀ of your secondĀ year.

Iā€™ve just transferred to the placement programme: when should I complete the course?

If youā€™ve transferred to a placement degree programme and missed a course, then you can simply complete the course in your own time. You should try to catch up with your placement preparation as soon as you can.
Your placement advisors are on hand throughout the year to help you with any questions you might have.

I think I want to do a placement but Iā€™m not sure. What should I do?

If youā€™re considering taking a placement, but havenā€™t decided yet, you should still take the placement preparation course, as it will undoubtedly enhance your employability skills.
If you would like to discuss the placement year in more detail, then please get in touch.

Courses

Do I have to complete the courses in order ?

Yes. Your placement preparation course has been designed so that each lesson and course utilises learning from previous courses.

Lessons

Can I skip lessons?

No! You must take every lesson in every course in order to complete that course. Even if you believe you have a great CV, or are an interview pro, taking the lesson will ensure youā€™re equipped for further success!
If you missed a week’s lesson due to illness or other circumstances, then please catch up before proceeding to the next lesson.

How long should I spend on each lesson?

You can spend as long as you like on each lesson, but you can find an estimate of the time needed for each lesson in that lessonā€™s description.
We strongly recommend you complete a lesson in one sitting, and that you plan out a particular time of day to take part in your placement preparation course.
