ECS Groups

In ECS we have many groups that support women in the department. There will be a guest blog posts from each of these groups throughout the year. I will be adding to this list – but these are enough to keep us going for now. 

Robogals: Robogals are an amazing outreach group who go out into schools and inspire young people through robotics. This group is aimed at primary schools. They are dynamic group who train undergraduates to go into schools and take part in events like science week and school fairs.

ECSWomen: ECSWomen is a group that supports undergraduate female students in Electronics and Computer Science. They hold regular events and these are useful to those who attend. Their latest events are here: https://twitter.com/ecswomen This group are an inspiration to all.

LeanIn: is a group for staff and PhD students – its a group based on the book by Sheryl Sandberg. Its about empowering its members to make positive changes. Lean in is based on Circles – whereby groups of people come together and support each other’s goals.

Theano: Theano is a cross faculty group with the aim of supporting female staff and students. It holds events on health, fitness and stress management.
