What is SxSC?<\/strong><\/p>\n SxSC is an ad hoc informal gathering aimed at people in the creative industries\/digital media who want to share their knowledge and learn about new developments.\u00a0 It is an intense event with a series of discussions, demos, participation and interaction from attendees.<\/p>\n You can be part of it \u2013 you can offer a talk, or a demo in one of the informal slots, or just come along and watch, talk to people, demonstrate kit informally in the bar area \u2013 it\u2019s up to you – the key word here is INTERACTION.<\/p>\n The idea is to get people talking and build up an informal network in the region, where beginners and experts can learn from each other, and make new connections \u2013 no boundaries, as long as you\u2019re broadly in line with the overall theme.<\/p>\n We will be involving participants in designing the event right from the outset, so if you have suggestions for topics for the informal sessions, or speakers, or ideas for a hacking task or contest, let us know \u2013 we\u2019ll do our best to accommodate, subject to demand, and fit.<\/p>\n Anyone can attend, as long as you have an interest in developing new technology and new user\u00a0 applications with a Creative Industries\/Digital Media flavour, including (but not restricted to):<\/p>\n <\/p>\n mobile\/smartphone \u2022 social media \u2022 visual media \u2022 visualisation \u2022 gaming \u2022 <\/em><\/p>\n augmented and mixed reality <\/em>\u2022<\/em> metadata \u2022 webscience<\/em><\/p>\n linked data\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/em>motion capture \u2022 arduino \u2022 architecture \u2022 archaeology \u2022 design \u2022 advertising <\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0creative arts \u2022 performing arts \u2022 TV Come and meet some great people with interests in the creative industries and digital media.
