{"id":1382,"date":"2016-10-07T14:03:17","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T14:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/wsaopps\/?p=1382"},"modified":"2017-01-25T11:22:10","modified_gmt":"2017-01-25T11:22:10","slug":"the-big-book-crit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/wsaopps\/the-big-book-crit\/","title":{"rendered":"The Big Book Crit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Due to popular demand, \u00a0The Big Book Crit is back this Autumn!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the success of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dma.org.uk\/article\/bigbookcrit-a-priceless-opportunity-for-the-future-of-creative-talent\">the first event earlier this year<\/a>, we will be holding a second event for young people looking to break into the creative sector.\u00a0Come along, and you will get the chance to have your work critiqued by leading Creative Directors and rub shoulders with industry VIPs.\u00a0Big Book Crit will be run in four regional hubs: London, Norwich, Bristol, and Edinburgh\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0is completely\u00a0<b>free to attend\u00a0<\/b>The event will be split\u00a0into three sections kicking off with a short topical talk, followed by individual book and portfolio critiques, and then finishing up with some time to have drinks and network.\u00a0A mix of Creative directors and other senior creatives will be on-hand to offer feedback on your work and advice on getting a job in the creative industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event is open to students (at any stage of their course) or recent grads that already have an existing book of work.<\/p>\n<p>Creative teams or individuals are both welcome.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><strong>Where\/When:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Bristol<\/b>, Thursday 6th October:<\/p>\n<p>Where: The Real Adventure,\u00a01 Glass Wharf, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS2 0EL<\/p>\n<p>When: 5pm until 9pm<\/p>\n<p><b>Norwich<\/b>, Thursday 6th October:<\/p>\n<p>Where:\u00a0Ideas Factory NUA, Cavendish House,\u00a028-32 St Andrews Street, Norwich, Norfolk,\u00a0NR2 4AE<\/p>\n<p>When: 5pm until 8.30pm<\/p>\n<p><b>London<\/b>, Tuesday 11th October<\/p>\n<p>Where:\u00a0Proximity London,\u00a0Bankside 3, 90 Southwark St, London SE1 0SW<\/p>\n<p>When: 6pm until 9pm<\/p>\n<p><b>Edinburgh<\/b>, TBC<\/p>\n<p>Where: TBC<\/p>\n<p>When: TBC<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><strong>How to book:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Register for the event and select your choice of location to secure your place!<\/p>\n<p>For any questions please email amiwhite@theidm.com<\/p>\n<p>By registering for the event, your details will be added to the IDM database.
