{"id":1374,"date":"2016-10-07T13:48:41","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T13:48:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/wsaopps\/?p=1374"},"modified":"2017-01-25T11:22:44","modified_gmt":"2017-01-25T11:22:44","slug":"lgbt-pulse-network-logo-design-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/wsaopps\/lgbt-pulse-network-logo-design-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"LGBT + Pulse Network &#8211; Logo Design Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The LGBT Staff Network will be changing their name later this year to The LGBT+ Pulse Network.\u00a0\u00a0 The network was founded in 2010 and aims to work in partnership with the University of Southampton and other LGBT networks to create a safe, inclusive and diverse working environment that encourages respect and equality for all, regardless of their sexual orientation and\/or gender identity. The LGBT Staff Network believes that, in order for every individual to reach their full potential, there must be no fear of discrimination or disrespect.<\/p>\n<p>We are hosting a competition to design a new logo for the LGBT + Pulse network. The winner will be credited with the design which will be used in all ongoing publicity materials and win a \u00a350 voucher which will be presented to the winner by\u00a0Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, President and Vice-Chancellor at our rebrand event in December.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the the LGBT + Pulse Network are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as an LGBT champion<\/li>\n<li>Work in partnership with the University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/hr\/managing\/diversity\/index.shtml\">Diversity Team<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Raise awareness of LGB staff issues<\/li>\n<li>Raise awareness of issues specifically affecting trans staff<\/li>\n<li>Be a safe point of contact for LGBT staff<\/li>\n<li>Actively influence University policies<\/li>\n<li>Support the University to improve its score in Stonewall\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/at_work\/\">Workplace Equality Index<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Organise activities and events for LGBT staff<\/li>\n<li>Communicate regularly with the University LGBT community via the Network\u2019s website, mailing list and Facebook group<\/li>\n<li>Engage with union representatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To enter this competition please send your entry in PDF format to Clare Hutton via c.m.hutton@soton.ac.uk with the subject &#8216;LGBT Logo Competition Entry &#8211; &lt;name&gt;&#8217;.
