As well as a wonderful opportunity to live and work in this beautiful and exciting country, and to gain some excellent work experience. If you have any questions or wish to apply for this position please contact Simon on the following email: <a href=\"mailto:simongraves@bvisvietnam.com\">simongraves@bvisvietnam.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art Intern Position<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Responsible to: Head of Secondary<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Role and Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide specialist skills in art beyond the knowledge and ability of most class teachers<\/li>\n<li>To enhance the artistic learning experiences of children across the school, with particular emphasis on key stages 2 and 3, but with the extended opportunity of providing support in Key Stage 1, iGCSE and sixth form at appropriate intervals.<\/li>\n<li>To facilitate high quality showcasing of art work around the campus.<\/li>\n<li>Work in close collaboration with the Art Subject Leader and class teachers to help facilitate art lessons and support ongoing CPD for teachers in primary.<\/li>\n<li>To deliver lessons, with appropriate support, at key stage 3 and in primary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To work to a reasonably fluid timetable in response to varying needs of IPC (International Primary Curriculum) related\/ non related work through the year, whilst adhering to a more fixed secondary timetable<\/li>\n<li>To identify and create a large collaborative art piece which can be ongoing and have input from a variety of pupils of different ages. Small groups can be withdrawn to assist at appropriate times.<\/li>\n<li>To provide specialist art clubs at each to support more able and interested pupils, offering a range of techniques and mediums.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance display around the whole school.<\/li>\n<li>Establish appropriate progression in the teaching of art skills as part of the IPC Curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>Support and advise primary teachers, as necessary, on class art projects and general art practice.<\/li>\n<li>Plan for and provide professional development opportunities using strategies which may include staff meetings, team teaching and workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Provide clear safety guidelines for the use of tools \/ equipment \/ resources.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake all professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the BVIS Teachers Contract, including Parents\u2019 Evenings, Staff INSET training etc.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out any duties that the headteacher considers reasonable, that are commensurate with the grading and designation of the post.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to share an opportunity sent to us by the the British Vietnamese International School in Ho Chi Minh City.
