Timorous Beasties at Winchester Discovery Centre
Prestigious textile and pattern designers Timorous Beasties are currently hosting a free exhibition here in Winchester at the Discovery Centre. Timorous Beasties are expert in printed fabric and wallpapers and also apply their designs to a range of disciplines, from carpets to ceramics and graphics to products. Founded by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, who met as students at Glasgow School of Art, the Timorous Beasties design studio has both embraced traditional design and defied conventional rules of pattern-making over the last 25 years.
The result has been an array of exciting textile collections and collaborative projects at the forefront of British design with clients such as Fortnum & Mason, John Lewis, Famous Grouse, the V&A and Nike. This striking new show offers a fantastic opportunity to see the fabulous work of one of the best current British design studios – in Winchester until 16 March. Enjoy!
The Gallery is open 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday;
Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm
Admission is free.
