Sichuan University International Summer Camp

Winchester School of Art is pleased to share this opportunity of an international summer camp with our long standing partner, Sichuan University (SCU). Located in Chendgu, China, SCU consists of three campuses surrounded by beautiful scenery in addition to the historic and cultural city.

The summer camp runs 3rd-16th July and includes tuition and accommodation free of charge, paid for by SCU. The SCU College of Art can accept upto 4 WSA students of non-Chinese nationality, to join with students from other overseas Universities participating in the summer camp. Students will be required to cover their own international airfare, insurance, VISA and personal expenses, however WSA will contribute up to £200 toward these costs.

Below is the current schedule, subject to change:

SCHEDULE
3RD JULY
1. Arrive at Haoanyi Hotel and collect and workshop materiats from the
staff .accommodation will be in the there star Haoanyi Hotel Hotel with
students sharing a room .
2. Free Time.

4TH JULY
1. Opening Ceremony of international exchange camp at arts college .
2. Welcome Lunch.
3. visit jiangan campus, Arts building and studio .Art Gallery of Sichuan University
4. Have Diner Jiangan Canteen. accompanied by Chinese students.

5TH July
1. Series Art lecture (1):traditional chinese painting
2. Creating Experience

6TH July
1. visit the Museum of sicbuan nUniversity.
2. visit wangjiang campus and wangjiang park.

7th July
1. Series history lecture(ll): the art of china`s ethbic minorities.

8TH July
1. Visit new beichuan:rebuilt after 2008 earthquakes-a day of tibetan & qiang.

9TH JULY
1. Experrience Chengdu Culture – Free Time Day.
Suggestions: Panda Base Visit

10TH JULY
1. Experrience Chengdu Culture – Free Time Day.
Suggestions: kuan zhai Alleys,Jinli Ancient Street

11TH JULY
1. My Intention of Work (l):Sharing of photographs and activities .
Notes: Presentations for 1 hour , followed by group discussions.

12TH JULY
1. Visit Jinsha Site Museum and Sichuan Provincial Museum.
Lunch: Packed lunch provided.

13TH JULY
1. Series History Lecture(lll):Chinese Calligraph
2. Creating Experience

14TH JULY
1. My Intention of Work (ll):Sharing of photographs and activities.

15TH JULY
1. Exhibition & Discussion
Location: The Gallery of Arts College

16TH JULY
1. A Brief Farewell Ceremony & Departure.

If you would like to take part in this exciting opportunity to visit China during the summer and learn more about art and design, then please complete and return the attached application form. WSA will decide which students to nominate based on the written statement completed by you and you will be notified as soon as this process is completed.
