Sensory Garden Sculpture
WSA has been invited to produce a sculpture for Brookvale House Care/Nursing Home in Portswood, Southampton. Brookvale are creating a new sensory garden, which will aim to to stimulate touch, smell, sight and sounds for the residents.
This project is being organised by Rev. Vic Jackson MBE, who will ultimately approve the final design. Vic has thus far organised a £15,000 sunhouse for the garden, a range of plants from Hillier’s Arborists and a large amount of volunteer assistance for the landscaping.
Vic is open to your interpretation but did note that many of the current residents had a working relationship to the docks and/or merchant navy and wondered whether this may be a relevant starting place.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please can you respond to Craig Wadman via c.wadman@soton.ac.uk with your ideas for the sculpture and attach any sketches you might feel useful. This is an unpaid opportunity.
