Fashion Design Competition – The Liberty

Style-focused shopping centre, The Liberty in Romford, is encouraging budding fashion designers to ‘liberate their style’ in its seventh annual Fashion Design Competition, which searches for future stars of the industry.

The international competition, in conjunction with M&S, is open to anyone over the age of 14 from anywhere in the world and no previous fashion or design experience is necessary.

Entrants will be asked to design an innovative women’s or menswear garment, which reflects their personal interpretation of ‘style’, and if selected, requested to attend The Liberty Catwalk Show on Friday 27th May 2016.

One lucky designer, selected from the finalists following the fashion show, will win a £1,000 injection into starting up a business or furthering their design career, which can go towards purchasing equipment or fabrics, hiring models for shows or attending key fashion events. The winner will also receive a trophy and expert industry guidance from Marks & Spencer in The Liberty.

Following its popularity last year, the ‘People’s Choice Award’ will return for a second year, the winner of which will receive a trophy, £100 gift card for The Liberty and a pair of Gold tickets to London Fashion Week in September.

Please find below a link where a downloadable poster with all of the competition details and entry requirements can be printed. If you could share this with students via your intranet, notice boards, email or social channels it would be gratefully appreciated. If sharing via social channels, please do also encourage the use of the hashtag #LiberateYourStyle.
