Designer-Maker Internships – Winchester Hat Fair
Winchester’s exciting annual Hat Fair, http://hatfair.co.uk/events/hat-fair-festival-2016/ has up to 6 paid internships available for Designer-Makers during June to design and make creative visual installations for some of the narrow alleyways around the city centre as part of the festival (1 – 3 July). A full brief is attached.
The project is a key part of Hat Fair’s long term artistic strategy to take over otherwise unused corners of the city and include different art forms in the programme, and to provide surprising and delightful ‘extra’ experiences for visitors to the city to stumble across. This will also offer students an opportunity to showcase their work to the 60,000 people who flock to Winchester over Hat Fair weekend. We want to harness local skills and creativity and are seeking individuals who can cater to both the artistic and practical demands of this unique project.
