WSA Opportunities

The University of Southampton Department of Human Resources would like to commission our student(s) to produce work which will be displayed in their newly renovated offices at the Highfield Campus. This is a paid opportunity.

The Brief

The Department of Human Resources welcome a broad range of portfolios and responses to the pieces, though offer the following key words and themes in keeping with their strategy: advisory, wellbeing, diversity, people & strategy, bright. Your response should aim to include these keywords/themes where possible.

Specifications

They wish to have four individual pieces produced and have offered the respective amount for each. Work will be hung on walls in various locations throughout the department.

• 180x180cm – £800
• 120x120cm – £650
• 100x120cm – £525
• 100x120cm – £525

If successful in your application, you will need to pay for all materials and canvas – with the fee being paid upon completion and delivery of the final piece in mid September 2017. WSA will make arrangements to transport the work from WSA to Highfield.

How to Apply

If you would like to apply to produce one or more of the pieces, please send a small portfolio of previous work with a brief covering letter to Craig Wadman, via c.wadman@soton.ac.uk with the subject ‘HR Commission – <your name>’, including in your email which sized pieces you’d like to produce. Your covering letter should include a brief summary of your previous work and an indication of your response/approach to fulfilling the brief. Work will be collated and reviewed jointly by WSA and HR, with successful applicants being informed mid-June.
