WSA Opportunities

The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize was created in 2005 by the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation to encourage the very best creative representational painting and promote the skill of draughtsmanship. With prize money of £30,000, the Prize is one of the most prestigious awards to artists throughout the UK.

HOW TO ENTER

Before entering, artists must read the Rules & Guidelines.

Artists initially submit up to 4 works through an online entry process. If selected for the Final Judging, artists will be invited to bring their work to the Mall Galleries.  Please see Entry Process, below.

Entry is £15 per work (£8 per work for students).

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY: WEDNESDAY 6 DECEMBER 2017, by 5PM (GMT)

PRIZES

• First Prize: £15,000
• Second Prize: £4,000
• Young Artist Award: £4,000 (For an artist who is 25 years of age or under)
• Brian Botting Prize for an outstanding representation of the human figure*: £5,000 (For an artist who is 30 years of age or under)
• People’s Prize: £2,000 (For an artist chosen by the public during the Mall Galleries exhibition)

*Brian Botting, Master of the Painter-Stainers’ Company from 2003-04, has kindly bequeathed a £5,000 annual prize to be awarded to an artist aged 30 or under for an outstanding representation of the human figure.

Please note that artists eligible for the Young Artist Award and the Brian Botting Prize will be asked for confirmation of their age.

Approximately 100 works will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London
