Highlight of the course so far:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Practicing using camera traps in the woodlands around Marwell Zoo and in my local area.<\/p>\n

Thoughts for the future?<\/em> <\/strong>I hope that this course will provide me with the knowledge and contacts to become established in the conservation community.<\/p>\n

Research project:<\/em> <\/strong>The effect of predation on Grevy’s Zebra (Equus grevyi)<\/p>\n

Highlight of the course so far:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0As well as the course itself, having the opportunity to be involved in conservation projects at Marwell Zoo, involving species in the animal collection, has been really interesting.<\/p>\n

Thoughts for the future?<\/em><\/strong> I would like to be involved in conservation projects abroad that engage local people in their efforts.<\/p>\n

Highlight of the course so far:<\/em><\/strong> Getting to grips with the process behind the big decisions within conservation, such as breeding programmes, reintroductions and research drivers.<\/p>\n

Thoughts for the future?<\/em><\/strong> I want to develop my research and contribute to the IUCN’s ground-breaking work on the red list of ecosystems.<\/p>\n

Highlight of the course so far:<\/em><\/strong> I love the practical learning aspect of the course, using the radio tracking equipment in Marwell Wildlife\u2019s woodlands is better than reading about it in a textbook.<\/p>\n

Thoughts for the future?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0I would love to work in the field in Africa, enabling wildlife to coexist with local communities and benefit each other.<\/p>\n

Highlight of the course so far:<\/em> <\/strong>Having lectures by and seminars with active conservation biologists at the top of their field.<\/p>\n

Thoughts for the future?<\/em><\/strong> I would like to become directly involved with reintroduction projects and contribute to the growing debate surrounding this contentious topic.<\/p>\n
