From my perspective, the most rewarding aspect of the two runnings of Living and Working on the Web this term was the interaction between the Singapore students (#MANG2049) and the UK students (#UOSM2033) who coincidently all studied Topic 5 at the same time. (The Singapore students took the whole module intensively over 12 days, the UK students over 12 weeks.)<\/p>\n

The Singapore students in particular were very much \u201cthrown into the deep end\u201d in their first term of University study, so it was very pleasing to get some <a href=”https:\/\/storify.com\/lisaharris\/student-feedback-living-and-working-on-the-web”>great feedback<\/a> :-)<\/p>\n

We ran a <a href=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UClonPbx1Nasqfxeql5iNFkQ\/videos”>daily Hangout<\/a> of between 30 minutes and one hour to make up for the lack of face to face interaction. Catherine and Charlie from the UK group joined Olja and myself in the <a href=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WQNno8l9G1s”>second hangout<\/a> for the Singapore students, then <a href=”https:\/\/twitter.com\/evantangs\/status\/542735158470656001″>Evan and Benjamin<\/a> from the Singapore group joined in for our final official hangout<\/p>\n

They also collaborated with each other: <a href=”https:\/\/twitter.com\/Evelinaal\/status\/542702761888862209″>Sara and Evelina interviewed each other<\/a> on camera for their final reflective post, and then Evan organised a final hangout where <a href=”https:\/\/twitter.com\/lisaharris\/status\/542602256907239424″>groups of students joined in<\/a> from local cafes.<\/p>\n

Finally I would like to mention Aetiiqcaz who came up with this <a href=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DrhvFfwB554″>amazing video introduction<\/a> to his final post \u2013 it sums up the entire spirit of the module.
