After considering<a href=\"http:\/\/allthingsd.com\/20110101\/the-social-webs-big-new-theme-for-2011-multiple-identities-for-everyone\/\"> the idea expressed by Liz Gannes<\/a> that the internet allows for many outlets for self-expression I stated in my blog post that it was important to have multiple identities when using the web; disagreeing with Mark Zuckerburg\u2019s claim that having more than one online identity demonstrates a \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2010\/05\/13\/zuckerberg-privacy\/\" >lack of integrity<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sophiecatherinecollins.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/11\/large_4278432941.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-34\" src=\"https:\/\/sophiecatherinecollins.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/11\/large_4278432941.jpg?w=376&#038;h=272\" alt=\"large_4278432941\" width=\"376\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was actually quite surprised at some of the other blog posts that I read on the topic. <a href=\"http:\/\/uzoweblife.wordpress.com\/2014\/10\/24\/multiple-online-identities\/\" >Dominic\u2019s blog in particular <\/a>raised some new issues that I hadn\u2019t yet thought about, such as the controversial requirement of identification by the government in some countries in order to have a social network account, which <a href=\"http:\/\/uzoweblife.wordpress.com\/2014\/10\/24\/multiple-online-identities\/#comments\" >as I mentioned in my comment on his blog<\/a> does seem extreme, but Dominic was able to contextualise it in a way that meant it seemed like quite a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <a href=\"http:\/\/sophiecatherinecollins.wordpress.com\/2014\/10\/23\/multiple-online-identities\/#comments\" >I engaged in an interesting debate with Anna<\/a> as our views on the way in which we should use personal social media accounts differed greatly. Anna held the opinion that \u201call our online presence should be professional\u201d whereas I really didn\u2019t agree.
