I was surprised by the big number of friends who are using it

Interesting videos The videos very useful and had an interesting message to transmit

Cons for topic 3:

Too much content for one video lecture. One lecture should stay focus on one topic. This video lecture was very complex, in the sense it had a lot of links to other reading or videos. There was a recent study that the best online lecture is normally 9 minutes. Hence I suggest to split this huge lecture of 35 minutes in 3 lectures (at least). To be honest it took me 3 days to finish it. From the physiological point of view, I believe the split could be seen as a pro, because the student will be happy to finish one lecture in one day rather than of haft of a big one. Also, I think it is a good solution to leave a few important articles on the slide and the others to be on a separate page as optional readings (or more advanced ones)

Bad presentation. Too many links were provided in the video lectures and I had to stop the video every 5 seconds. This aspect made me to understand very difficult the flow of information which was in the actual course. Moreover, some slides were presented too fast and I was not able to see them

Bad interactivity. When I wanted to click on a link, which have been provided in the lecture, the slide had changed. Thus, the time that was provided for each slide was too less. Every time I had to stop the video, go back, reload the page and see that sections. A good solution could be to leave 1-2 seconds before you change the slides. On the online platforms for MOOC courses such that Coursera, the teacher is pausing the video at some points and as a result of this the student is able to click on a link or solve a small quiz.

Dead link. The link provided at the minute 23:30 in the video lecture was not working (Ivan’s presentation)

Very difficult to find relevant information. In order to access the page with the instructions for the topic 3, I have to navigate thought a huge mass of posts (which are not relevant to me). This takes time every time for each topic. I good solution is to post in the right side panel, a link to a page where you list all the pages with the instructions for the topics.

Missing instructions The actual evaluation criterias are not listed on the website, such that I can see for example, which are the penalties for a late submit

Personal problem. My posts from this blog are still not present on the #UOSM2008 website (I do not understand why). There is not a clear instruction which tells me what should I do to have them on the website

No Facebook account. Given that a third of population of Earth is using Facebook and this course is about social media, there could be a big issue that the teacher has not provided until now a Facebook account. Using this social network the teacher may get in touch with the students who are using it.

This post should be regarded as a personal feedback for the 2 weeks of the topic 3 (#UOSM2008).
