I really enjoyed the module as well as giving my opinion about various topics for discussion we had. I’d say the most interesting one for me was probably the second one, where we discussed online identities and personalities. I would say that on some of the topics I felt it’s difficult to express myself completely, but hopefully I did alright.<\/p>\n

The UOSM2008 module I’ve chosen and participated in have taught me things about online communications, online presence and managing a blog (as I haven’t one before that). I would say it was a great time, it was particularly interesting as the module was happening online and it was a bit unusual not to have classes and just submit your topics online.<\/p>\n

I would say it’s not the module that teaches you, it’s more like showing you the way of how to get the knowledge that you need – while discussing various topics it was important to study the subject first before posting a proper post on the topic. As I learned quite a lot of things I would say it was working great for me as well. However as I would say it’s difficult to reflect on myself, I’d rather discuss anything else rather than myself – but as we have a questionnaire and a table to fill, I’ll try to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Accessing, managing and evaluating online information<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0I felt quite confident with accessing information online through various sources<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0Even though I’ve done a lot of that I couldn’t say I perfected my skills and there are still a lot of things I can learn<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Participating in online communities<\/td>\n\u00a02<\/td>\nI was participating in several online communities<\/td>\n\u00a03<\/td>\n\u00a0The module helped me to understand the importance of online communities and cooperation as well<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Building online networks around an area of interest<\/td>\n\u00a03<\/td>\n\u00a0Even though I am not doing it regularly, I have an experience of building small networks around an area of interest<\/td>\n\u00a03<\/td>\n\u00a0To be honest, the module is not quite teaching that, however shows an importance of the process.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Collaborating with others on shared projects<\/td>\n\u00a03<\/td>\n\u00a0I have experience of working within group projects<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0The module is all about collaborating and sharing ideas, which is absolutely great.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Creating online materials (text, audio, images, video)<\/td>\n\u00a03<\/td>\nI have experience of creating online material<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0The module motivates to publish posts and other materials regarding different topics we had.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Managing your online identity<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0I would say my online identity was managed alright.<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0The module helps a lot on that, but the same thing as with the first question – I do not think I’ve perfected that and it is always possible to do things better.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Managing your online privacy and security<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0Online privacy and security are essentials of online world.<\/td>\n\u00a04<\/td>\n\u00a0The module helps to manage the privacy and security, but with the changing conditions of modern online life, it’s getting more and more difficult to stay secure and I would say, that it’s more of a constant process which requires learning all the time.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Q1 Why did you choose the module?<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the description it sounded really interesting and engaging and it turned out to be so in the end.<\/p>\n

Q2 What in particular do you want to learn from the module?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I didn’t set any objectives for myself, but as I previously mentioned I learned about online presence and cooperation.<\/p>\n

BSc Marketing<\/p>\n

Q4 Have you studied online before?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, this was my first time and I really enjoyed that!<\/p>\n

UOSM2008 module is not just some subject you learn, remember and tell at the exam only to forget it afterwards – it’s more like an experience of being in a community of people where everybody is expressing their opinion and discuss different topics with each other. This particular thing was probably most engaging and I would personally recommend this module to my friends.<\/p>\n
