Four, more exactly, plus some other different shades. And yes, it took a long time to have it done. A very long time. And no, to be frank, I can’t remember what my natural colour looks like. So…

Hi! My name is Raluca Alina Laic or as everybody calls me, Pinky. Yes, my nickname comes from the fact that I always have a shade of pink on me. Either bright, either pale, I must wear something pink. No, that doesn’t mean I’m crazy. Well not that much…

You must be wondering why a girl like me is doing Computer Science and not some other subject. Don’t worry, I get that a lot! Actually, I don’t really know why I chose this subject in the first place. The only thing I know is that my love for computers is far bigger than my love for pink stuff! And believe me, it’s a lot.

Moving on, I am 19 and I come from Romania. This is my first time here in Great Britain so obviously, I don’t like the weather. I mean, I like the sunny days when it’s not raining but unfortunately there aren’t too many this time of the year. But hey, I’ll get used to it at some point! I hope. Luckily, when I arrived here on the 28th of September, I was surprised to find out that it was a warm sunny day. Not too warm for me though. I still couldn’t take off my trench coat and put on my flip flops like the others…but I’ll try that next year!

Actually, 28th of September was quite a busy day for me. I had an early flight here, carrying lots of luggages packed with pink clothes and accessories (neah, I’m just kidding). Indeed I had lots of luggage which I had to carry around terminals, bus stations and a taxi until I finally arrived at my hall. I was so tired!

But this was only the beginning. Next day, took the bus, came to uni and started looking for the building 32. JumpStart of course! I eventually found it and it all became hectic. Hectic, but lots of fun! I’ve seen the whole of Southampton, including my favourite place here – West Quay! Thanks Stu for bringing me there! And of course I’ve met the very nice people from my group (Craig, Max, T & Charlie) and some other nice people and we made so many nice pictures and we made a nice blog and the jury thought it was so nice so they put us on third place and gave us a nice prize! OK, I’ll stop saying “nice”. But it was so niiice!

Fresher’s week couldn’t have been this good without lots and lots of freebies, fairs, the bunfight and of course, parties! So many stuff happening in only one week! Honestly, I wouldn’t have enough space to write here everything that happened to me so I’ll leave it to another time. Until then, remember to
Think Pink!

Chapter 1: Introduction Yes, my hair is full of colour.
