It’s been a while since I last posted a blog, but the amount of work set in the second year, even from the start of the first semester, has meant that there have been other distractions (although admittedly, not all of them are work related).

Looking back on my last few blogs, I’ve realised that my workload around the end of the second semester of my first year was not too bad at all, really, and that I should have saved some of my moaning for this semester. I currently have four pieces of coursework set, including one group coursework, and with a presentation to perform in a couple of weeks. It means that time off can be hard to come by.

Still, I’m playing a fair amount of sport still, both for the ECSS football team and for the University cricket team. Although I’ve somehow ended up in goal for the football team, I would like to point out it wasn’t the reason for the 8-2 loss at the weekend.

Living in a house is a lot different from my first year spent in halls, in a number of ways. Firstly, with a living room, there’s always distractions that need to be avoided in order to complete any work. Secondly, there’s not always people returning from a night out roaming around, inside and past your room at 3am. It happens sometimes, just not ALL the time.
