Exam Period

The exam period has been over for a couple of weeks, and everyone is starting to get back into the swing of things (which is why I am writing this). All in all, it didn’t go too badly, although the timetable for the first week was a bit of a nightmare. Who wants an exam at 9.30am on the first day of the exam window?

The second semester has finally kicked into gear after the introductory lectures, and several pieces of lab work have now been set in several modules. After a relatively easy going first week (which started well when we found out that our 9am Monday lecture was NEVER going to be held), it takes some effort to start working hard again, but I am just about there.

On the sporting front, ECSS’s football team have enjoyed a few successes lately, with a win in the Sunday league, and a forfeited game awarded to us in the Wednesday league. There are only a few games left now (those that had been postponed earlier in the season, but are now being rearranged), and then the season will be complete. Hopefully, we will manage to claw ourselves away from the bottom of the table.

Other sports are now beginning to take precedence, and the University Cricket Club (SUCC) are now holding weekly nets at the Rosebowl (Hampshire’s home ground), along with the regular Sunday morning nets. The trials for SUCC are being held during the last week of the Easter holiday, which means I will only get three and a half weeks off. A student’s life is hard, but someone has to do it.
