Intellectual Bad-Ass

I’m off on a first aid course tomorrow for my Jiu-Jitsu club. Should be interesting and I have done some basic DR. ABC before (though it’s probably more like DRY. ABRCDEZ… now). Also teaching freshers (and 4th-years) some Jitsu which is giving me the opportunity to practice my ability to explain things in plain English and to demonstrate that I’m an intellectual bad-ass.
Some good news: I’ve been offered a gig up in my hometown of Bristol. It will be me and a friend doing a duo; I’ll be playing guitar and he’ll do the singing as I can’t sing to save my life really. I love playing live even if it doesn’t balance out the hours I spend preparing for the gig. My new band here in Southampton has also almost formed now that we *kind of* have a drummer and a potential singer! It should be awesome and there’s quite a few cool places to play like The Hobbit, Joiners, The Brook, The Stag’s Head, Talking Heads (and many more)… Well, I hope we get to play at all those venues!
By the way, in the first two weeks of Year Two I’ve made 21 posts of personal notes in WordPress. Goes to show that we learn a lot here at ECS 😉 One of my friends has offered to do some lovely diagrams in OpenOffice Draw (good program!) for me which is nice of him, so you may find my notes a bit more… understandable, in the coming weeks.
