{"id":2251,"date":"2016-11-29T16:41:18","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/sharks\/?p=2251"},"modified":"2016-11-29T16:41:18","modified_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:41:18","slug":"week-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/sharks\/week-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Week Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> of November:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Home Games:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women\u2019s team met the Imperial College of London Women\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> for their first cup game in the Jubilee. It was a tight game where the women had to battle hard. The first quarter was unfortunately lost 13 (Sharks) \u2013 17 (ICL). With only a 4-point lead, the game was still very close. Sadly, the second quarter was also lost: 10 \u2013 17. Sharks had to fight to come back to the score. They did and won the third quarter: 12 \u2013 10. This wasn\u2019t enough, as there was still a 9-point lead for ICL. The last quarter was the highest scoring quarter of the game and the women managed to win the quarter once again 25 \u2013 17.<br \/>\nHowever, that wasn\u2019t enough and the Final score was: 58 -61.<br \/>\nFortunately, it was a cup game and it won\u2019t have any effects on their BUCS league position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Away Games:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Men\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> had their Cup game as well and went to London to play against St Mary\u2019s University College Men\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup>. Sharks started very well by grabbing an early 17-point lead. Nevertheless, the local team managed to tie the score. Fortunately for the Men, they managed, at the end of the game to put in some crucial points which gave the win.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Final Score: 63 (St Mary) \u2013 64 (Sharks).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Men\u2019s 3<sup>rd<\/sup> went to Cardiff to meet the University of South Wales Men\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup>. Only 7 players were there against a full team in front of them. Nevertheless, they won the first quarter 7 (South Wales) \u2013 10 (Sharks). The Men had a short lead but didn\u2019t stop there they won the next two quarters also by a few points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Quarter: 8 \u2013 12<\/p>\n<p>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Quarter: 13 \u2013 15<\/p>\n<p>The last quarter Sharks pulled it off and ended all hopes of the local team to win the game.<\/p>\n<p>4<sup>th<\/sup> Quarter: 8 \u2013 24<\/p>\n<p>Final Score: 38 &#8211; 61<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday 26<sup>th<\/sup> of November:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our Men\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> went to Bristol and met Bristol Storm. The first quarter, Sharks were leading slightly the game and imposed their tempo. It was a fast and high-scoring game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup> Quarter: 19 (Storm) \u2013 26 (Sharks)<\/p>\n<p>The second quarter, the Men took a considerable lead and were clearly ahead.<\/p>\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Quarter: 14 \u2013 30<\/p>\n<p>Southampton had a 23-point lead and just had to keep their advantage without making too many mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>The third quarter, Sharks continued to increase their lead, 24 \u2013 28.<\/p>\n<p>At the fourth quarter, the Men didn\u2019t score as many points and let the local team win the quarter: 19 \u2013 15.<\/p>\n<p>Final Score: 76 \u2013 99<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sunday 27<sup>th<\/sup> of November:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sharks B faced Histsoc in the Intramural League on Sunday. It was a low-scoring game which was focused on the defence. Sharks had trouble moving the ball in offence, nevertheless, their defence was solid. The Development team managed to win the first half with a 3-point lead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Histsoc didn\u2019t make it an easy game for Sharks and managed to the tie the game back again.<br \/>\nFortunately, the Dev.
