for every 0.25% increase in \u201cEco shower\u201d uptake, the average incremental saving in water was c.<b>9 <\/b>million litres and for every 10% increase in \u201cHosepipe Ban compliance\u201d, the average incremental saving in water was c. <b>0.65<\/b> million litres.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As suggested by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/earth\/environment\/10823473\/Hosepipe-bans-are-pointless-study-concludes.html\">previous work<\/a>, the results show that temporary use bans (\u201cHosepipe Bans\u201d) are relatively less effective than water efficiency interventions because relatively few people have gardens that they actively water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Ben Anderson and Dr Magesh Nagarajan have presented preliminary results from the IMPETUS project at the 2016 European meeting of the International Microsimulation Association.&nbsp;
