{"id":3285,"date":"2014-01-28T22:29:53","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T22:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/serg\/?p=3285"},"modified":"2016-09-15T11:10:09","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T11:10:09","slug":"lcnf-save-project-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/serg\/lcnf-save-project-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding for Low Carbon Network Fund (LCNF) project \u2013 \u2018Solent Achieving Value from Efficiency\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/mediacentre\/news\/2014\/jan\/14_15.shtml\">University of Southampton<\/a> are the academic lead of a newly awarded second tier low carbon project funded by Ofgem and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssen.co.uk\/Home\/\">Scottish and Southern Energy Networks<\/a> (SSEN) valued at a total of \u00a310.3 million, starting in 2014. The consortium project, led by SSEN and entitled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofgem.gov.uk\/publications-and-updates\/low-carbon-networks-fund-submission-southern-electric-power-distribution-%E2%80%93-solent-achieving-value-efficiency\">Solent Achieving Value from Efficiency<\/a>\u2019 (SAVE) aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use targeted energy efficiency measures with domestic customers.<\/li>\n<li>Quantify customer responses to a range of approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a network planning tool that incorporates the learning from this and other trials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a title=\"Prof Bahaj\" href=\"http:\/\/www.energy.soton.ac.uk\/people\/bahaj\/\">Professor Bahaj<\/a>, head of SERG and the Energy and Climate Change Division at the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment said; \u2018this project shows confidence in our overarching activities of the group in energy generation and demand reductions.
