The maps are based on data released by <a title=\"DECC\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-of-energy-climate-change\">DECC<\/a> and <a title=\"ONS\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ons.gov.uk\">ONS<\/a>. the maps will be updated periodically when new data becomes available<\/p>\n<p>The maps currently include the following variables for the Solent region in 2011:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Domestic electricity and gas consumption per capita per year,<\/li>\n<li>Population<\/li>\n<li>Total domestic CO\u2082 emissions per capita per year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions were calculated based on medium super output areas (MSOA), where each small area has a population around 10000 and 4000 households.
