Sustainability Action has won funding to deliver the first student sustainability research symposium in April 2016 and we need your help.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Educating Global Citizens\u2019 symposium<\/a> is the first academic sustainability conference of its kind – designed for students and with students. We\u2019re recruiting for a student Marketing and Events Assistant\u00a0to help us develop and deliver the symposium, with a particular focus on making it sure it is tailored to the student audience.<\/p>\n

Why should you apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here are just a few reasons why:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. You\u2019ll gain CV experience. <\/strong>Not only will you develop transferable skills (team-working, communication, organisation, initiative\u2026) but you\u2019ll also be able to state you were part of a team that developed and delivered the first research symposium of its kind.<\/li>\n
  2. You\u2019ll have a unique voice.<\/strong> This is the first event of its kind; by getting involved at the development stage you\u2019ll have the opportunity to shape it from the early stages right through to delivery of the event and dissemination of the event afterwards.<\/li>\n
  3. The networking opportunities.<\/strong> Joining the Sustainability Action team for several months will give you the chance to meet prospective employers, and connect with others in the sector.<\/li>\n
  4. The work is flexible. <\/strong>The internship is one day per week from February until mid-June but we\u2019ll work with you to help fit it around your degree.<\/li>\n
  5. You\u2019ll be paid.<\/strong> As well as gaining CV experience and being involved in something novel, you\u2019ll be paid for the privilege!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So what do you need to do next?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    You need to apply through the Excel Internship Programme website<\/a> by the deadline of January 24th<\/sup> 2016. You don\u2019t need to be an expert in sustainability \u2013 we\u2019re looking for someone with the organisational and communications skills to help engage students with the symposium and support those involved. Make sure you tell us in your application why you\u2019re the person with the experience and skills to help deliver a successful first student sustainability research symposium!<\/p>\n
