Please get in touch if you want to get involved in any of these activities.<\/p>\n<h2>*\u00a0<a title=\"Robogals\" href=\"http:\/\/www.robogals.ecs.soton.ac.uk\/\">Robogals<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Robogals Southampton are part of an international group of students with the collective aim of encouraging young girls to think about taking up computing through robotics and challenging the idea that robotics and computer science subjects are not a male only profession. Activities are centered on using Lego\u2019s NXT robotics to test computing logic and robotics systems in order to produce a robot capable of achieving defined tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Robogals arrange regular challenges and competitions around the country, which are suitable for young people and parents alike. They also regularly visit primary and secondary schools to allow young people to get hands on with technology.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like Robogals to come to your school or you would like to come to the university then please get in touch.<\/p>\n<h2>Scratch (using Raspberry Pis)<\/h2>\n<p>We are able to offer 1 day gaming workshops using small raspberry pi computers and scratch, software that teaches programming to beginners using a simple interface.<\/p>\n<p>The day would include an introduction to games design using scratch, where students can learn how to construct a working maze game amongst others.\u00a0 This is supplemented with a talk on the game design industry and demonstrations of computer games and the features that make them what they are.<\/p>\n<h2>Code Breaking<\/h2>\n<p>The University of Southampton are pleased to be able to offer 1 day code breaking workshops.\u00a0The day involves setting the class a challenge to crack a mystery along the lines of; \u201cSomeone has broken into a safe and stolen a bag of diamonds- we need to crack the code to find out who \u2018did it\u2019!<\/p>\n<h2>Coming soon!<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Nanotechnology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will soon be offering a day program to teach young children about nano technology.
