Dr Stephen Prior was the UK National Organizer for the Eurobot competition for 7 years (2005-2012). This is a Europe-wide robotics competition involving over 30 countries. Over the\u00a0years the UK has taken teams to compete in Switzerland (x2), Italy, Russia, France (x4) and Germany (x2). Last year’s World Final was held in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, 22-24 May 2015.<\/p>\n

Since moving to the University of Southampton<\/a> in the summer of 2012, Southampton teams have now won the UK Final three times. In the 2014 UK Final, Southampton teams took all three top places and in 2015 and 2016,\u00a0<\/strong>Southampton teams took the first two places, with a team from Birmingham taking the third spot. These three teams represented the UK at the World Final.<\/p>\n

2016 UK Results:<\/p>\n

1st Place –\u00a0Smack My Beach Up\u00a0(The\u00a0University of Southampton)
\n2nd Place –\u00a0Shore Circuit\u00a0(The\u00a0University of Southampton)
\n3rd Place – Ubrobotics\u00a0(The University of Birmingham)<\/p>\n

\"Prize<\/p>\n

The 2016 UK Final<\/a> took place at Middlesex University’s Hendon\u00a0Campus on Thursday,\u00a021 April 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was an Open final and several international teams came and competed with the UK participants.<\/p>\n

The main sponsor of the Eurobot (UK) Final\u00a02016 was Rapid,\u00a0Festo and Oomlout<\/a>\u00a0who gave prizes of \u00a3150, \u00a3100 and \u00a350 to the top three teams:<\/p>\n
