I worked pretty hard today, and I&#8217;m pooped<br \/>\n<strong>I am thankful for&#8230;<\/strong> finding a little timer thing &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/dan.hersam.com\/software\/snaptimer\/index.html\">SnapTimer<\/a>, which I&#8217;m using to break my work into 15 minute stints<br \/>\n<strong>I  am learning&#8230; <\/strong>that everyone&#8217;s PhD really is more different that I had thought. I&#8217;m warned by other students about keeping up with reading, yet my supervisor doesn&#8217;t think that undirected reading will help me much.<br \/>\n<strong>I am creating&#8230;<\/strong> a draft of my 9 month report<br \/>\n<strong>I am going&#8230; <\/strong>home. I always do this at the end of the day, so that&#8217;s often where I&#8217;m going!<br \/>\n<strong>I am reading&#8230; <\/strong>my own writing. And some other standards that keep cropping up.<br \/>\n<strong>I am hoping&#8230; <\/strong>that tomorrow I can beat up a decent &#8220;related work&#8221; section<br \/>\n<strong>I  am hearing&#8230; <\/strong>Asma (a previous PhD student) is visiting as she was at the careers fair. She&#8217;s chatting to some of the other students.<br \/>\n<strong>Around  the lab&#8230; <\/strong>it has been pretty quiet.
