Unified Modeling Language: A software design approach to miXXerS

Although UML is normally is often used for object-orientated design, it can be worth it to create UML for other applications too. Pictured below is a ‘use case’ diagram. Use case diagrams are representations of a user’s interactions with the system. The system in this diagram is the miXXers social network. The green bubbles represent use cases, things the user could do within miXXers. The lines link actors (in this case a generic user of miXXerS) and the use cases they have access to. Lines can also occur between use cases  in order to indicate relationships between them. An extend for example, is used to indicate a use case conditionally adds steps to another use case. Although not used here, there are many other types of UML diagrams which could be used to model structures, relationships and communications.

Mobile Apps

You get a ton done when you’re at your computer, speeding away on the day’s social media strategy.  In the last year alone, mobile payments apps has generated a total $235.4billion worldwide.

Mobile apps and tools can make it easier for a marketer’s entire day as it is filled with easier ways to tap opportunities to connect, engage and share. You can get more done while waiting, lounging, and at anytime when you’re not tethered to a desktop or laptop. The palm size, weightlessness and wireless technology that comes with mobile makes it convenient and primary for miXXerS users on the go,

It necessary for miXXerS’ future development that in addition to being a mobile first site we  create mobile apps that enable users to log-on their account just by clicking a miXXerS app icon on the mobile screen. This allows all users  to stay on top of the latest news or music posts, share music and all the service that we offers are now able to access from mobile apps.

In summary, you can enjoy complete page management controls like you can with the Facebook app, making life super easy for admins who need to make changes on the fly, while you’re on the go.

The following picture is the sample of the front page when you click on our future miXXerS app on your mobile.

function 2: request DJ/band

When you would like to ask the DJ/band to play for personal event, use this function. Selection could be by location, data, DJ.Band and Music genre, then narrow down to each event information. When you found the one you wanted, send an email to the DJ/Band to negotiate the detail. Those email exchange will be monitored by miXXerS and miXXerS will take few % of the price.

—————————————————————————————————————

Function 7: register (user)

Users also have to register to use any of this service, since information of DJ/Band and members will be confidential and exclusive to members only. It would be dangerous enough to contact/meet a stranger especially at some night club, so registration is important for the safety of users. It also is required to ask users to buddy up carefully, at their own risk.

Survey: What do you want miXXerS to be like?

We worked together in our team meeting to create a survey to find out more about what you would you think miXXerS could be like. If you have a moment we would love for you to answer a few questions. We promise it won’t take too long! Your answers will help us to develop the service. This survey has been approved by the University of Southampton’s Ethics Committee.

miXXerS… Social Network Linking DJs, Musicians & Party/Concert-Goers

20150305_151335

Music lovers are rejecting the purchase of CDs in favor of streaming their favorite songs via platforms like Spotify or illegally downloading them. This has dealt a blow to not just the wider music industry but also the musician. On the other hand, concert sales and attendance at parties are still the norm, whether they are small or large. DJs are also still popular and their services are still valued at parties.

After a coming up with a few ideas in this meeting we finally decided on our project! We propose the creation of a social network site called ‘miXXerS’ which will connect concert and party goers with each other as well as DJs and musicians. It will be integrate with existing sites like SoundCloud, and MixCloud but also include third party integration of Twitter and Facebook. The site will facilitate the discovery and sharing of new music and information on parties. It will enable connection with others who may have similar tastes in music, concerts and parties. It will also help to put more revenue into the pockets of DJs, musicians, promoters and party organisers who can also use the site to promote such events and the music that is played there.

Objective:

To connect music listeners, partygoers, musicians/DJs and party/concert producers on one site.

Tagline: Connecting all music and party and concert goers
