The convenience of Electronic Payment Systems was the main reason behind their widely spread and success. However, current electronic payment systems concentrated on economic and legal aspects but lacked a very essential recent aspect, sociability. The idea behind our proposed system “QuidLink Social Payment System” was to solve the problem of social payments between family and friends. The current electronic payment systems are implemented as business centred design. In Quid Link we followed user centred design approach, where we broke down the problem to user scenarios in order to come up with an easy, secure and efficient product that meet the user needs with no complexity.
Quid Link is simply a money requester application, where the user (money requester) can register in the system, enter required details, and then create transactions. Each transaction will be represented by a unique link, which can be sent to one person or shared by multiple persons. Quid Link also provides the authorisation option to the money requester, where he can choose this option to be notified before processing the payment. This will help in giving more security assurance to users who have public accounts or need to confirm the payer identity before transaction execution.
What make QuidLink unique among other competitors is that it doesn’t limit the user to one channel of sharing transaction. It can be through Facebook, Email or SMS. Also, it doesn’t require the money requester to reveal any private information to the other party. Moreover, it doesn’t require the payers to register or have an account in the system. In addition, it is designed as a web application where it can work both on portable computers and smartphones.
