We&#8217;ll be demonstrating some of the technologies involved in our research into non-standard controllers for musical performance.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1077\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1077\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/music\/files\/2015\/03\/MMIImg.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1077 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/music\/files\/2015\/03\/MMIImg-300x188.png\" alt=\"MMIImg\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/music\/files\/2015\/03\/MMIImg-300x188.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/music\/files\/2015\/03\/MMIImg.png 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1077\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Multi-Modal Instrument &#8211; for real-time performance with physical model synthesis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There will be two demos, one themed around the Hands On Sound project, which is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council as part of a Collaborative Doctoral Award. Our partners in the project are Dr Cheryl Metcalf from Health Sciences, the London Sinfonietta and Sound Intermedia, and we are exploring optical motion-capture systems in live electronics performance.
