The issue was co-edited by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/education\/about\/staff\/lf1a09.page?\" target=\"_blank\">Prof. Lianghuo Fan<\/a> and Mr. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/education\/about\/staff\/dkj.page?\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Jones<\/a> of MaSE and Prof. Jianpan Wang, and Prof. Binyan Xu of East China Normal University. \u00a0A number of internationally leading researchers from different parts of the world contributed to this special issue, which contains 11 articles. \u201cI hope this special issue will in a sense become an important milestone and a must-read resource in the area of textbook research in mathematics education\u201d, said Prof. Fan. MaSE will also organize a related conference, the <a title=\"Textbook conference\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mase\/2013\/07\/23\/pre-announcement-for-icm2014\/\" target=\"_blank\">International Conference on Mathematics Textbook Research and Development<\/a> \u00a0from 29-31 July 2014.
