Entitled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.4324\/9780429021015-13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/doi.org\/10.4324\/9780429021015-13&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1594221759626000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGXQMdPwZmhuRqgc_F8NmSCw8tG3Q\">Fake news, artificial intelligence, mobile divisions, likely futures? Debates on digital technologies in mathematics education<\/a>\u201d, the chapter considers the extent to which the use of digital technologies improves educational outcomes in school mathematics (or whether there is much \u2018fake news\u2019), the rise of digital \u2018assistants\u2019 and \u2018tutors\u2019 for mathematics education (or whether such \u2018intelligence\u2019 is literally artificial), and whether increasing use of mobile digital technologies in mathematics education helps all learners (or whether it is contributing to an exacerbated \u2018digital divide\u2019). The chapter concludes with consideration of the impact of current developments on the likely futures for promising forms of digital technologies for mathematics education.
