{"id":1083,"date":"2016-09-20T19:21:13","date_gmt":"2016-09-20T18:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/?p=1083"},"modified":"2016-09-20T19:23:57","modified_gmt":"2016-09-20T18:23:57","slug":"mshe-at-eridob-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/mshe-at-eridob-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"MSHE presence at ERIDOB 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a strong and successful presence of the MSHE re<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/mshe-at-eridob-2016\/fullsizerender\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1085\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1085 \" src=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/09\/FullSizeRender-300x239.jpg\" alt=\"fullsizerender\" width=\"214\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/09\/FullSizeRender-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/09\/FullSizeRender-768x613.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/09\/FullSizeRender-1024x817.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/a>search centre at Karlstad, Sweden this month, were four of our members presented their work at the\u00a011th conference of European Researchers in Didactics of Biology (ERIDOB) which took place between 5-9 September 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Dr <a href=\"mailto:J.Byrne@soton.ac.uk\">Jenny Byrne<\/a> presented her work on health education, entitled \u2018A longitudinal study of the impact of pre-service teacher training in health education and the implications for biology teaching\u2019, co-authored with Willeke Rietdijk and Karen Pickett.<\/p>\n<p>Dr <a href=\"mailto:a.christodoulou@soton.ac.uk\">Andri Christodoulou<\/a> and Prof <a href=\"mailto:M.M.Grace@soton.ac.uk\">Marcus Grace<\/a> presented their work in science teacher education, part of the on-going EU-funded project PARRISE, entitled \u2018Pre-service teachers\u2019 experiences of learning to teach biology through a Socio-Scientific Inquiry-Based Learning (SSIBL) approach\u2019, co-authored with Ruth Amos and Ralph Levinson from UCL IOE.<\/p>\n<p>Dr <a href=\"mailto:C.F.Hughes@soton.ac.uk\">Carys Hughes<\/a> gave a poster presentation on work currently taking place in collaboration with Dr Christian Bokhove on developing biology teachers\u2019 mathematics knowledge and skills.
