This\u00a0forms\u00a0part of our activities with our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/education\/postgraduate\/itt_courses\/pgce_sciences.page\" target=\"_blank\">Secondary Science PGCE<\/a> teachers and it is part of\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/projects\/parrise\/\" target=\"_blank\">PARRISE<\/a> project.<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_1047\" style=\"width: 208px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/06\/asking-SSIBL-questions.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1047\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1047\" class=\"wp-image-1047\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/06\/asking-SSIBL-questions-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"143\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/06\/asking-SSIBL-questions-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mshe\/files\/2016\/06\/asking-SSIBL-questions.jpg 689w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1047\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">formulating SSIBL\u00a0questions in science classrooms<\/p><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>In this session we will be joined by a group of pre-service science teachers from UCL-IOE and their tutor <a href=\"https:\/\/iris.ucl.ac.uk\/iris\/browse\/profile?upi=RAMOS71\" target=\"_blank\">Ruth Amos<\/a>, and we will engage collaboratively in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parrise.eu\/About-PARRISE\/ssibl-framework\" target=\"_blank\">SSIBL activities<\/a> focusing on the concepts of epigenetics, obesity, healthy lifestyles and behaviours. Our PGCE teachers\u00a0will take part in hands-on activities focusing on ways of measuring health, and will then design classroom activities for secondary school pupils to engage them in socially-responsible inquiry about health and the science behind it.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last session of our teacher professional development course\u00a0for 2015-16 \u00a0will take place on June 15th\u00a02016 at\u00a0Lifelab\u00a0with Andri Christodoulou and Marcus Grace.
