You don&#8217;t need anything more than the normal Panopto Recorder software, although we do recommend doing a test on the actual equipment you wish to use on the day.<\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to live stream is to tick &#8220;Webcast and Record&#8221; in the Panopto recorder<\/p>\n<p><em>You can click on the pictures to enlarge them<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_616\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mle\/files\/2014\/05\/webcast.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-616\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-616\" alt=\"The webcast tickbox in the top right hand corner of the Panopto recorder\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/mle\/files\/2014\/05\/webcast-300x40.gif\" width=\"300\" height=\"40\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-616\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The webcast tickbox in the top right hand corner of the Panopto recorder<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When you press record a URL will be generated and automatically placed within your Blackboard course and on <a title=\"http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk\" href=\"http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk\">http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I get that URL in advance?<\/h2>\n<p>The biggest downside of the above step is that the URL is generated automatically only when the lecture starts. This is good enough for a test broadcast or a secure broadcast to students on your course, but is probably inappropriate for an event. You can follow the steps below to pre-generate a fixed URL.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Got to <a title=\"http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk\" href=\"http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk\">http:\/\/coursecast.soton.ac.uk<\/a> and login with Blackboard<\/li>\n<li>On the left hand side are the all courses that you have permission to view.
