David Hockney A Bigger Picture, 30 June 2009\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/b00lk119\" target=\"_self\">on TV painting Yorkshire landscapes<\/a> in watercolour, a new medium to him.<\/p>\n<p>Ohers might use photography, or even words, to picture such scenes.*<\/p>\n<p>Our canvas is digital and presents many new media, and some old.<\/p>\n<p>So our repositories are at once gallery, laboratory and academy all in one.<\/p>\n<p>Just as for Hockney, people would expect no less than to be able to see the works today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Deposit it, store it, use it, keep it.
