M. Morant (1939) <em>A Bibliography of the Statistical and other Writings of Karl Pearson<\/em>, Cambridge University Press.<\/p>\n<p>For the statistical papers\u2014at least\u2014Morant provides abstracts and cross-references. Most of the abstracts were written by B. L. Welch.<\/p>\n<p>Most of Pearson\u2019s articles are now accessible through <em>JSTOR<\/em>. However many of his contributions to <em>Biometrika<\/em> were unsigned editorials and material from lectures and the only infallible method for finding them on <em>JSTOR <\/em>is to go through volume by volume. Alternatively use the Morant bibliography.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/Library\/special-coll\/kpearson.shtml\">The Pearson Papers<\/a> at University College London has more than 16,000 letters, family papers and scientific manuscripts, including students\u2019 notes on Pearson\u2019s lectures and the records of the Men and Women\u2019s Club. A catalogue is available:<\/p>\n<p><em>A list of the papers and correspondence <\/em>of Karl Pearson<em> (1857-1936) held in the Manuscripts Room, University College London Library<\/em> compiled by M Merrington, B Blundell, S Burrough, J Golden, J Hogarth (University College London, 1983).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aim25.ac.uk\/cgi-bin\/search2?coll_id=2866&amp;inst_id=13&amp;term1=karl%20pearson\">AIM25 listing<\/a> contains a basic description of the collection.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.economics.soton.ac.uk\/staff\/aldrich\/kpreader1_files\/main.htm#port\">Porter (2004)<\/a> has a long list of archives, the ones he used in writing his book. There is also material at King\u2019s College, Cambridge (<a href=\"http:\/\/janus.lib.cam.ac.uk\/db\/node.xsp?id=EAD%2FGBR%2F0272%2FPP%2FBRA%2F2%2F72\">Bradshaw Papers<\/a>), in the University Library at Cambridge, at the Royal Society, the Royal Astronomical Society, Adelaide University Library, the Worshipful Company of Drapers, the American Philosophical Society Library and the Rockefeller Archive Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pearson\u2019s output was vast: Morant\u2019s bibliography lists 648 publications and some of the projects like the Elasticity and the Galton biography were on the grandest scale.
