Below you can read students’ impressions about their trip to Jesi:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let’s start with Maddie Mason \"IMG_0034\"<\/a>\u00a0 who was “inspired” and wrote a poem \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Ode to Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>One month ago I left the UK,<\/em><\/p>\n

I went to Italy – a week there I stayed,<\/em><\/p>\n

I went with my Italian class,
\nI learnt lots and I had a laugh,
\nIce cream and pizza played a part in our stay,
\nIn fact they appeared almost every day,
\nIt started even on the very first night,
\nWhen we arrived in Iesi and then went for a bite,
\nWe did lots of travelling over the following days,
\nAnd improved our Italian in many ways,
\nOff to Rome and Ancona we did go,
\nWhere we visited the sites and took photos,
\nThe coliseum, Spanish steps and San Pietro,
\nEverything in Rome was simply fantastico,
\nBut the caves for me were really the best,
\nAs not only did they put my Italian to the test,
\nTheir sheer size and magnificence had me in awe,
\nI had never seen anything so impressive before,
\nYet perhaps one of the best moments of all,
\nIs when we spent an afternoon by the pool,
\nWe laughed, swam and ate lots of food,
\nTook in the view and it was all so good,
\nThe town of Iesi, where we set up base,
\nWas quiet and peaceful and to my taste,
\nThere were many friendly people who were eager to chat,
\nMy problem at first was I could not answer back,
\nBut as the week went on my confidence grew,
\nI spoke more Italian and I understood lots too,
\nBut there were other things which were learning curves,
\nLike crossing Italian roads requires some nerve,
\nBut also how brilliantly expressive Italians can be,
\nThat was absolutely great to see,
\nAnd also how Italians are always very well dressed,
\nNo matter the weekday in their Sunday best,
\nSo thank you Alessia for the trip to Italia,
\nFor me it was an esperienza fantastica,
\nI’ve learnt a lot and I feel very fortunate,
\nLike next time I’m in Italy, I won’t be drinking a hot chocolate!<\/em><\/p>\n
