He is also a Hans Freudenthal Prize winner (2013).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Michal Yerushalmy (Israel)<\/strong><br \/>\nMichal Yerushalmy is Professor in Mathematics Education; she is also Vice President and Dean of Research of the University of Haifa, Israel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Plenary panel<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chair\/Speaker:<\/strong> Ken Ruthven (UK)<br \/>\nKenneth Ruthven is Professor of Education and Director of Research, Faculty of Education, Cambridge University; he is also Chair of School Mathematics Project Trustees.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speaker\/Panelist:<\/strong> Jere Confrey (USA)<br \/>\nJere Confrey is Joseph D. Moore Distinguished Professor in the College of Education, North Carolina State University; she is also Chief Mathematics Officer, Amplify Learning, USA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speaker\/Panelist:<\/strong> John Ling (UK)<br \/>\nJohn Ling was a leading author and developer at School Mathematics Project (SMP); he had been mainly responsible for two series of SMP textbooks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Speaker\/Panelist:<\/strong> Binyan Xu (China)<br \/>\nBinyan Xu is Professor in Mathematics Education; she is also Vice Dean of the Graduate School, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Paper submission and deadlines<\/h1>\n<p>We invite you to submit\u00a0a paper or poster or propose a symposium or workshop that is broadly linked to the theme of the conference or other aspects of mathematics textbooks. This can involve, but is not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Textbook research (concepts, issues, methods, directions, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Textbook analysis (characteristics, treatment of contents and\/or pedagogy, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Textbook comparison or historical studies<\/li>\n<li>Textbook use (by teachers, by students, and\/or by other parties)<\/li>\n<li>Textbook development (presentation, task design, publishing, policy matters, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Integration of ICT in textbooks (including e-textbook)<\/li>\n<li>Other disciplines in maths textbooks &amp; maths in textbooks of other disciplines<\/li>\n<li>All other relevant issues about mathematics textbooks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conference papers are published in electronic proceedings, with opportunity to be considered for an edited book, considered by a major publisher.
