This award is given to an individual who has made a particularly noteworthy contribution to Astronomy or Geophysics at an early stage of their research career. Kate has been recognised for her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/oes\/research\/staff\/cr1c09.page?#publications\">work<\/a> on developing a range of geophysical methods to investigate the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary.
