This week there will be a 25 min presentation from this years Imperial Barrel Award team who would like a practice run of their presentation before heading to the European Finals in Prague next week so any constructive feedback would be much appreciated:<\/p>\n

Presenters: Alice Wenborn, Benjamin James, Christopher Wilkinson, Samuel Bunnett, Suzanne<\/b> Millis <\/b><\/p>\n

Title: “Hydrocarbon Potential of the Cooper Basin”<\/strong>
\nAn evaluation of licence block PEL 106 in the south-western Cooper Basin, south east Australia. The Cooper Basin is a proven petroleum system with numerous plays in terrestrial sedimentary sequences. We focus on the Permian Patchawarra formation with intercalated fluvial sand reservoirs and coals, demonstrating both intraformational and regionally extensive seals.<\/p>\n

Our prospect is a combined structural-stratigraphic trap mapped using seismic attributes. We identify a primary gas play in the Patchawarra sands, sourced from the intercalated Permian Coals with an estimated volume of 22.39 Bcf. We also identify a secondary unconventional play of coal seam gas and consider its future potential.<\/p>\n
