{"id":323,"date":"2017-01-19T16:53:12","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T16:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/fshs\/?p=323"},"modified":"2017-01-19T16:53:12","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T16:53:12","slug":"listening-students-said","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/fshs\/2017\/01\/19\/listening-students-said\/","title":{"rendered":"Listening To Our Students: You Said, We Did"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/studentvoice\/faculty-of-social-human-and-mathematical-sciences.page\" target=\"_blank\">Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences<\/a>\u00a0is the largest Faculty of the University of Southampton. \u00a0It brings together a unique range of disciplines, and\u00a0is committed to tackling the world\u2019s biggest challenges through interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-42358 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2016\/12\/PAIR-student.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"278\" \/><br \/>\nStudents\u2019 feedback helps to shape university services and, in turn, improves the student experience.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, students have fed back on a number of aspects that they would like to see improved\u00a0within the Faculty. \u00a0Here are some examples, showing how the Faculty\u00a0responded:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty-wide &#8220;You Said, We Did&#8221; initiatives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction of the Blackboard Student Hub site for both staff and students,\u00a0allowing all information to be hosted in one place.<\/li>\n<li>Introduction of a faculty-wide policy that will see all coursework submitted online, where possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41458 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2016\/12\/students-in-maths.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/maths\/index.page\"><strong>Mathematical Sciences<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>You said:<\/strong> You would like better communication regarding your academic units.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"uos-component-accordion-container\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>We did:<\/strong> We piloted the introduction of the <a title=\"Maths Matters blog\" href=\"https:\/\/www.efolio.soton.ac.uk\/blog\/maths\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maths Matters blog<\/a>\u00a0as a platform to host events, opportunities and other\u00a0student-focused news.
