<\/a><\/p>\nThe Academic Skills Hub is based in the Hartley Library\u00a0and is a place\u00a0students\u00a0can go to find out more about some of the skills they\u00a0need to be successful in their\u00a0studies and beyond.<\/p>\n
The Hub is staffed by librarians who can point students\u00a0to resources and services both in and outside the University. The Hub covers a range of areas, based on feedback from student surveys.<\/p>\n
The Hub is open 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00 Monday to Friday\u00a0<\/strong>throughout February \u2013 May. Students can either turn up (no need for an appointment) or ask questions on the Library website<\/a>. The Hub is also available online via a pilot platform<\/a>\u00a0which\u00a0provides access to a range of academic skills resources across all subjects.<\/p>\n After receiving feedback on assignments, it is easy for students to feel lost with what to do next. There are so many resources available that it can quickly become overwhelming. The Hub is an easy way to get support in taking the\u00a0first step towards improving the areas highlighted in the feedback. Librarians can help students identify resources and services that will help them\u00a0tackle particular\u00a0areas of concern such as\u00a0‘critical thinking’, ‘referencing’, ‘presenting’ or ‘avoiding plagiarism’ among others.
