We can also reveal the names of the <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/25\/vice-chancellors-awards-2014-congratulations-to-this-years-winners\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">11 individuals and\u00a0six teams<\/span><\/a>\u00a0who are being recognised for their exceptional contributions through the 2014 Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Awards.<\/p>\n<p>While we have much to celebrate internally, externally we have been building our profile as a world-class University; we are distinctive due to our connections. As part of this, over the last three weeks we have aired our connectivity film in cinemas and on TV;\u00a0over 110,000 people have viewed it\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RFSs9OOQ0nk\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">online<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, this month we\u00a0acknowledge the announcement from our <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/15\/vice-chancellor-to-retire-in-two-years\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Vice-Chancellor, Don Nutbeam<\/span><\/a> regarding his plans for retirement within the next two years and of Professor <span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/jesus-college-oxford-elect-professor-sir-nigel-shadbolt-next-principal\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Sir Nigel Shadbolt\u2019s <\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.soton.ac.uk\/evoice\/jesus-college-oxford-elect-professor-sir-nigel-shadbolt-next-principal\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">plans<\/span><\/a><\/span> to take up a post as Principal of Jesus College, Oxford in 2015<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to raising a glass and celebrating all of our achievements at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/staffparty\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">2014 Staff Party<\/span><\/a>\u00a0tomorrow afternoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Highfield Campus has been alive with Graduation over the last few days as we celebrate with over 4,000 of our newest graduates, their families, friends and supporters.
