Last night, prizes were given out at the University&#8217;s first Sustainability Action Awards. <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/27\/congratulations-to-winners-and-runners-up-at-the-universitys-first-sustainability-action-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\">See the full winners list here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It has been announced that our Human Resources (HR) department retained the <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/14\/southampton-retains-award-for-hr-excellence-in-research\/\" target=\"_blank\">HR Excellence in Research award<\/a> for a further two years. In a further success story, iSolutions have been awarded for the design and build of the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/isolutions\/who_we_are\/whats_hot\/data_centre\/isolutions_data_centre.html\" target=\"_blank\">Data Centre.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Continuing this month\u2019s achievements, Estates and Facilities have won the acclaimed <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/14\/university-estates-and-facilities-named-apprentice-employer-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Apprentice Employer of the\u00a0Year\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0and we have also reached the second round of the prestigious <a href=\"http:\/\/isoton.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/26\/university-gets-through-first-round-of-s-lab-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\">S-lab awards<\/a>, for our Wind Responsive Fume Extract system.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, this month we held a number of events in celebration of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/diversity\/news\/events\/womens_day.page?\" target=\"_blank\">International Women&#8217;s Week<\/a>. In addition, we hosted workshops and lectures to coincide with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/schoolsandcolleges\/scienceweek\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Science and Engineering Week <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/interdisciplinary\/researchweek\/irw2014.page\" target=\"_blank\">Interdisciplinary Research Week<\/a>, to take our world-leading research out into the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This month, our outstanding staff and students have been recognised through a number of awards.
